UNTITLED
Site-specific installation, Hockney Gallery, RCA London 2009
The crucial part of this site-specific project was an intervention in the actual gallery space. The Hockney Gallery is a passage space and the work was developed mainly for those who knew its former shape. Originally the main wall of the gallery had two large alcoves, through which the way to the back of the building was visible. I walled them off leaving a narrow slit on the left side. The darkness in the slit suggested the presence of something behind the wall. From the back there was a low entrance. Once inside it was possible to observe (and stay unseen) those entering the main gallery space.
